In our mission to return every traveler to the road better than they came, we’re always striving to improve your experience when you stop at our travel centers. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary this year, we’re looking to the future and trying to anticipate the ever-evolving needs and desires of our guests. And as part of that work, we’re excited to announce that by the end of 2022, we will have rolled out widespread restroom and shower upgrades to dozens of our travel centers across the country.
Restroom Renovations
Fleet operators, professional drivers, and motorists alike have expressed invaluable feedback to us throughout our fifty years of service. One thing they made absolutely clear is that we had an opportunity to improve our restrooms and showers. And so, in our travel center transformation plan, we focused on elevating the level of cleanliness, comfort, and quality for travelers who use our facilities.
In order to bring the transformation to life in a meaningful way, we knew we had to place our guests in the driver’s seat. So, we first began testing out various upgrades at select sites. Once we had collected traveler feedback, we used it to help choose the cleanest, most efficient, and most comfortable materials. Only then did we roll the updates out to a wider selection of sites.
Guests who visit our updated travel centers will notice new tilework, plumbing, amenities, lighting and more—including upgraded flooring, sinks, and countertops. With these floor to ceiling renovations, we hope to provide a welcoming, modern, and vibrant space for our travelers to refresh.
Streamlined Showers
Anyone who’s been behind the wheel for long enough understands what a well-timed shower can mean out on the road. And with our newly refreshed amenities, we believe our shower stalls are truly the cleanest and most dependable on the interstate. Each shower is stocked with towels, a washcloth, a bathmat, soap, and a hair dryer. Plus, with our TruckSmart app—available on Google Play and the Apple Store—you can pre-reserve and unlock your shower door right in-app for a comfortable, contactless option.
Our Cleanliness Promise
In addition to renovating our restroom and shower amenities, we are committed to inspecting them hourly to ensure they meet our high standard of cleanliness. Guests can expect clean floors, mirrors, and sinks; well-stocked paper and soap products; functioning, well-maintained fixtures; and friendly, attentive staff. Our shower suites are monitored and sanitized regularly by our dedicated team of porters who commit to hospital-grade cleanliness standards.
