St. Christopher Fund Makes a Difference!

Each and every professional driver represents a critical link in our country’s supply chain. That’s why when they’re in need, St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund (SCF) steps in to help make their lives better. With more than $4.7 million spent so far, they work hard to support drivers—and their families—when injuries or illnesses threaten to keep them off the road.

A Professional Driver Needed Help

Clarence Jackson has been a professional truck driver for 20 years. But when a nail pierced his boot and cut through his toe, his driving days were numbered. His toe became infected and needed to be amputated. A month later, the same fate awaited his other toe. He was also suffering from diabetes, a chronic condition that makes healing harder.

SCF Provided Financial Support to Get Him Back on the Road

Clarence was unable to work for nearly four months. His bills were adding up fast and he didn’t have the funds to cover rent. Fortunately for Clarence, he learned from other professional drivers about St. Christopher Fund (SCF). Within a week of applying for help from SCF, his landlord received a check.

“I couldn’t hold my emotions,” he said. “Other than family, I never really had anyone step up for me before.” The check did more for Clarence than pay bills; it renewed his faith in the trucking industry. “It gave me a sense of purpose and the confidence that someone from the industry cared.”

You Too Can Make a Difference—Round Up to Support SCF

Clarence is back on the road now, but he has always wanted to repay SCF for the help he received at what he describes as his lowest point. And now he is, by sharing his story. You can help too, by rounding up your change every time you visit a participating TA, Petro, or TA Express travel center. The St. Christopher Fund round up donations will be accepted from Memorial Day Weekend through July 31, 2024. Remember, your extra change can make a big impact for professional drivers in need.
