Our Culture
There’s never been a more exciting time to join the TA team. In 2020, TravelCenters of America embarked on a major company transformation. The plan focuses on improving business operations and enhancing the entire travel center experience for all guests. It is resulting in improvements in efficiencies that position TA well for success. With the One TA approach at the center of this ongoing company transformation, we put team members first to provide the best experience for our guests.
Our culture is guided by the following values:
Welcoming
Be welcoming and provide warm hospitality.
Empathetic
Drive in their shoes.
Integrity
Do the right thing.
Openness
Try new things out.
Team Player
Help each other.
We’re dedicated to maintaining the highest integrity and standards of ethics and live by our Business Code of Conduct and Ethics. We treat our guests, suppliers, team members, community partners and all other stakeholders with honesty, dignity, fairness and respect.

How We Care for the Community
In the spirit of our mission—to return every traveler to the road better than they came—we believe we have a duty to give back to organizations close to the trucking industry and the local communities we serve. Learn more about some of the organizations TA is proud to support.

Sustainability
TA is committed to environmentally friendly practices to help foster a cleaner planet. As part of normal business operations at headquarters and at sites nationwide, recycling, conserving paper, LED lighting usage and reducing overall water flow are implemented.
In 2021, TA announced the launch of a new specialized business unit, eTA, the company’s commitment to sustainability through adding sustainable energy options for professional drivers and motorists, while leveraging alternative energy to support its own operations. As the transportation industry and the nation continue to address environmental concerns, eTA will generate solutions and provide support for guests and travelers increasingly adopting electrification and decarbonization practices.
Sustainability
Driven by Respect for All
Our travel centers serve thousands every day; not one traveler is the same and our team must reflect that. We can "return every traveler to the road better than they came" only by understanding and celebrating individualism. We commit ourselves to equality and inclusion across: race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, age, disability, handicap or Veteran status.
At TravelCenters of America, we invite everyone to make themselves at home.
A Second Career
We appreciate veterans, not only for the sacrifices and commitments they’ve made to our country, but also for the skills they developed during their time in the service. We’re always in search of veterans who are interested in advancing their professional career at one of our travel centers or corporate headquarters.

Daymaker Program
The values we practice every day, both as individuals and as an organization transforms our team members into Daymakers for their internal and external guests. It’s in how team members interact with each other and our guests, and what guides them to make decisions, big and small. Our Daymaker program recognizes and celebrates behavior which exemplifies our value system. Regardless of level, position or title, team members get the recognition they deserve for making someone’s day and doing everyday things extraordinarily well.
