Working at our Travel Centers
At TravelCenters of America, we operate as One TA, our philosophy for reaching company and professional goals, together, working as a team.
The most successful journeys happen when everyone is headed in the same direction.
This One TA approach is guided by our values, whether we’re changing a guest’s tire, serving up a hot meal or greeting customers with a smile. No matter what their needs may be, we strive to make every guest feel at home and to get them back on the road better than they came.
We can’t bring our vision to life—leading how travelers refresh, refuel and repair—without doing the same for each member of our team. That’s why we offer a wide assortment of employee benefits and perks.

A Day at Work in Our Travel Stores:
Exciting things are always happening in our stores, Verizon wireless locations, casinos and fuel buildings. From our fast-growing selection of beverages and healthier Grab ‘N Go food options, to amenities like showers and professional driver lounges, we’re transforming the way travelers take a moment to refresh while on the road. We’re looking for enthusiastic team players of all skill levels who want to help us change the TA convenience store experience.
A Day at Work in Our Restaurants
Our travel centers wouldn’t be what they are without our wide range of food options served by warm, friendly faces. Highway travelers and loyal guests know that when they see a TA, Petro or TA Express sign, they can expect great food served by great people. Whether you’re starting a career in one of our full or quick-service restaurants or have a history managing food operations, we have a rewarding opportunity for you.
A Day at Work in Our Distribution Centers
Warehouse and distribution center positions are available at our Open Road Distributing warehouses in Phoenix, Arizona and LaVergne, Tennessee. Our 23 18-wheelers travel 2.9 million miles annually from these warehouses to bring supplies and goods to all TA, Petro and TA Express sites across the country. In total, the distribution centers include 286,000 square feet of space, 55 dock doors and over 75 team members, including 25 professional drivers. Each of those team members is an integral part in returning the guests visiting our locations back to the road, better than they came.
“My store keeps me productive and I take pride in what I do. I love keeping it up to the standards of TA. And, we are like family—we are there for each other whenever we are needed.” –Gwen, Store Manager
“I started with the company when I was just 18 and TA has met all of my expectations over the years. Longtime acquaintances I’ve met throughout my career have become family to me.” -Cesar, Food Specialist
A Day at Work in Our TA Truck Service Shops
Working in our shops is about more than changing a tire or writing up a guest’s work order. It’s about part being of a team of experts trained in the latest truck technologies and cutting-edge equipment, responsible for keeping professional truck drivers moving. More importantly, it’s about having the opportunity to grow in your career, while benefitting from the mentorship, training and unique learning environment that TA Truck Service provides.
Department of Labor Certified Diesel Technician Apprenticeship Program
The TA Truck Service Diesel Technician Apprenticeship program gives aspiring truck service technicians and diesel mechanics guided, hands-on experience, teaching them to safely and efficiently perform the maintenance and repairs needed to keep today’s technologically advanced commercial vehicles safely on the road. The program allows participants to work full-time at a TA Truck Service facility while completing their training, instead of paying to attend a vocational school or training program.
Most of the training is facilitated by a mentor technician while on the job. Participants also have access to live support from an around-the-clock technical support team, made up of ASE Master Technicians based at TravelCenters of America headquarters.
Participation in the apprenticeship program can span 12 to 36 months, depending on the skill level of the truck service technician or diesel mechanic enrolled. Upon the successful completion of the training, the participant receives recognition by the U.S. Department of Labor as a Journeyman Diesel Technician.
“Each day there is a new opportunity to make someone’s day. And, family comes first. That makes TA like home.” -Mary, Truck Service Manager
“I can honestly say I feel as though I am an important thread in the fiber of the woven fabric that is the heartbeat of America’s transportation system. The work we do is impactful.” -Tad, Truck Service Specialist
